Chimney & Fireplaces/heatolater

Question
I am purchasing a house built in 1975.  The only fireplace is a masonry one in the basement, but the heatolater has been removed, the chimney is gone and it is non working.  Can this be repaired to working order and if so, what is the approximate cost I can expect to have to pay.

Answer
Hello Linda, hard to say what it will need with out seeing first question I would ask is "why was it removed"? then I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
