Question
Hi, what is involved with removing a marble hearth and replacing it with tile?  Do you just use a pry bar to get the marble slab up?  Then do you just apply thinset and tile?  Thanks.

I would have no idea what is under your marble hearth at this time. Presumably, yes, you would pry it up. What is left behind, will determine how to proceed. It mat work out as you say or maybe not. I would recommend a licensed contractor that has references you could check for this type of work. Good luck.
