Chimney & Fireplaces/Liquid creosote running down furnace pipes

Question
I have a wood furnace which is my primary source of heat.  Recently I have had black creosote liquid running down the outside of the door and down the chimney pipes.  What could be causing this and what remedies do I have.  I am a widow who lives alone and I am afraid of what kind of creosote buildup there is
and if there is a danger of having a chimney fire.   Thank you.

Answer
Hello Marsha, did you contact the furnace manufacturer? and if so what did they say? you might not be burning it right, it might need a cleaning?
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
