Chimney & Fireplaces/Marco Fireplace

Question
I have a manufactured home I bought 1yr ago. It has a marco fireplace in it. works great but only heats my living room and family room. I am wanting to put a wood burning Insert into the home but what are the precautions I need to take.  Will it burn hotter as far as my current chimney will I need to upgrade or anything as that matter.   I live in Indiana and our retail store here is Menards and Lowes. I looked at menards and they have a insert that measures 27x19  (length and Height) and my fireplace is 30x19 so I'm ok there.  Thanks for your time

Answer
Hello Adam, unless both the fireplace and insert are rated to be used together in writing you can not just stick an insert into your fireplace. If they are then they will tell you if you need to make any modifications.
If you are looking to heat your home you might want to look into pellet or a direct vent gas/propane stove.
Be sure to check your local building department.
