Question
I have a ventless gas fireplace insert with a fake chimney on the outside of the house, I want to change it over to a woodburning fireplace insert, would it be safe to put in a woodburning insert with a double wall flue pipe, the box around the fireplace is just wood, any suggestions?

Answer
Hello Darrell, the "Fake chimney" may not be rated for an insert and be very dangers, start with your local wood stove store and I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
also check with your local building department.
Hope this helps
