Question
I have two questions. My 1st question is that I have 2 flue's that I am replacing. One flue will have a stainless liner and will vent a coal stove about 30" to the West of a flue that will vent my fireplace. My thought is that I should be 2' higher with the fireplace flue to prevent any coal fumes from backdrafting into the fireplace. Should I do this or have them at the same height? 2nd question: The fireplace flue is a 13x18 which I set up to install an anchor plate to extend with SS pipe. Since then I have found an anchor plate with damper. This would require me to add a 15" round clay liner to enable installation of the anchor plate w/damper. Would this be OK?

Answer
Hello Brad, 1st, one being higher would help with  more of a negative pressure than "back drafting".
2nd Not sure what you are "extending " for or this "anchor plate" but if you are going to use some one's system, Anchor Plate" I would ask them, never heard for a "anchor plate" with a damper so not sure what you have or how it will work
