Question
I have a 5 yr old vexar (mod. Desta cd 36m-a-2, 26,ooo btu. I dropped the firplace down 9". what's the best way to fill in the 9" gap and where can I find parts?

Answer
Hello Don, I do not know where to find parts for that chimney (maybe where you bought it or your local wood stove store) with out the exact make pipe you can not fabricate any piece's or use another pipe in its place (you can not mix and match)
you might have to replace the entire system (chimney and maybe the fireplace)
the only thing I can think of is to lower the entire chimney down if you stil have the height on top
