Chimney & Fireplaces/dual Fuel Chimney

Question
I own an older house with a chimney in the center.  It's not lined, and currently not in good shape.  I currently rely exclusively on a fuel oil furnace with this chimney.  In the future, I want to utilize the chimney to for the fuel oil furnace in the basement, AND install a wood burning stove on the main level.  Can the chimney be lined for a dual fuel use.  I think it's about 10" square currently.

Answer
Hello Paul, contact your local building department and see if they will let you and I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help. maybe a pour in place dual liner, 2 SS liners, maybe just the furnace
let the sweep take a goo look
Hope this helps
James
