Chimney & Fireplaces/wood stove is leaking cherosene

Question
I recently moved into an old house with a Vermont casting and had the chimney swept before starting the wood stove.  The chimney and pipe into the house has leaked cvreosote ever night since the cleaning despite the fact that it only rained one night.  How can I stop the leak onto the house, it is an awful mess?

Answer
Hello Katie, all solid flue (wood stoves) should have the male end of the pipe pointing down tot  he stove to run that back into the stove (sweep should have know this) and it is odd that a stove would leak that creosote back after a cleaning it usually take a while for the pipe and stuff to build up? that stove  might not be installed correctly or used properly
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
