Chimney & Fireplaces/stove pipe

Question
I have 2 stoves,a wood stove and a coal stove that I connected with a tee stove pipe into the chimney. The pipe connects to the chimney at the cement wall. Both stoves have their own damper in their section of pipe. I haven't fired them up for the season yet. My question is: Is this okay to use the chimney flue for both stoves piped this way?

Answer
Hello Melody, you can not put 2 solid fuel (wood or coal) appliances into the same flue. check with your local building department. This is very dangers, do not use this set up. One or the other if the chimney is sized properly and lined. I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
