Question
I have a Majestic pre fab fireplace with a few cacks in the refractory panels.  Can these cracks be repaired with refractory cement such as those made by Rutland Products.

Hello Andrew, you could try that cement but it will not hold up, if you can find the oem replacement panels that would be best if not they do make a generic panel, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
