ANSWER: Hello Howard, most if not all pre fab fireplace systems are UL listed (or tested to the same standard) is there a problem with your system?

QUESTION: i'm not sure if it will pass on clearence codes. does it need to be stamped HT to be rated for high temp?
thanks

Answer
welcome back Howard, lest start with is this a new install? or a repair? New, get new pipe altogether... repair it must match the original pipe.
check with your local building department and I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
