Question
Hi I hope you can help me i am trying to install a zero clearance  wood insert stove into my steel zero clearance  prefrab.gas fireplace, I don't see a real brick chimney in the back of it all I see is a wooden frame and still ducts ... Do i need to built a brick fireplace so i can install a wooden insert stove in order to be safe in all means. Thank you

Answer
Hello Rosa, you need to follow the install instruction for that insert (and check local building department) and that "insert" must be rated for use in your fireplace, if not then don't install it. I am not a big fan of inserts in pre fab fireplaces.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
