Chimney & Fireplaces/I'm having trouble lighting my gas fireplace. What type of controller does it need?

QuestionWe moved into a new home with a propane fireplace, and I just managed to get the pilot light started today. But we got NO manual, remote control, or instructions on the fireplace when we bought the home, and I can't figure out how to actually light the fireplace now.
There are two wall switches in the room on opposite walls that don't seem to control anything else, so I'm wondering if one or both of these are used to turn on the fireplace? On the left side of the fireplace, there is some type of little metal box with 8 dip switches on the outside (#1 and #3 are turned on). Any suggestions?
AnswerHello Maitreg, do not play with it any more (you could blow up your house), contact your local wood stove store, Propane service person to inspect this system, do not use it with out the owners manual (they might be able to help you find it)
If they can not fix it, fond manual, or get it running correctly then replace it.
