Chimney & Fireplaces/Shrader wood stove clearance

Question
Hi James,
We have a Shrader wood stove... I was wondering if there is a way I can tell the manufacturer's specifications for minimum clearance.  Our stove is currently installed with 12" between stove box top corner %26 brick right wall.  The brick wall is a free-standing partition with 2" space between the back of the brick wall and the actual house wall.  My insurance company is having a fit as they typically require 18".
Do you have any thoughts/suggestions/words of advise?
Thank you.
Lainey

Answer
Hello Lainey, if they require 18" you must give them 18" (unless you have the original owners manual that states 12" of clearance) also check with your local building department for what they require for clearance.
maybe you could update your stove to a new one that might fit what you have?
James
