How do you fix a broken chimney tile?

Hello Earl, you must remove all the old tile and then set new tile from above (tile must be installed ahead of the chimney) so you might have to drop the entire chimney to do it right or you could reline the chimney with a SS liner contact your local building department andI would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
