Question
I live in a house that was build in 1951.. the Chimney has 2 seperate exhaust ( i gues is what you would call them) one on each side but the strange thing this they are different sizes... one is 6in and the other is 9 1/4in.. what could this 9 1/4 have been used for and is there any way i can convert it down to a 6in?

Answer
Hello Leslie, not sure why you want to change the size unless to make them look the same. they are sized for the size of the fireplace and furnace/boiler you have, I do not recommend changing them. I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
