Question

#2302
Hello James:

We have an Elco fireplace insert and need to remove the outside frame as the hearth has cracked and needs to be replaced.  Can you tell us how to get the metal frame off or does the frame come out with the whole insert?

Answer
Hello Elizabeth, the whole insert has to come out, unless you have the owners manual that might tell you if it comes off.
James

Elizabeth, I am sorry that you felt my "answer was less than help full" but there are literally hundreds of different insert models and you didn't give me a model # so I asked if you had the manual? you should not be using any insert/wood stove with out having and reading the owners manual (no matter how long you have been using it) for safety reasons.
and as far as being rude, when I get a repeat questions on my end I have a button that deletes the second repeat post,
I have been Volunteering for over 6 years with All Experts. and my answer stands, if you do not have the owner manual that might show how the front comes off then you will have to remove the whole insert.

CommentIf I had a manual I would not have written to you so your answer was less than helpful and rude and also telling me that you already wrote to me - I sent the message twice because it didn't look like it went through.
