Chimney & Fireplaces/TemTex ventless insert

Question
Have had this insert about 8 -10 years, however this year I keep smelling an odor when in use. I have had someone check for a leak ( only by putting soapy water on some of the lines inside the house). I've taken all the logs out and it still emits an odor.It is a propane unit. Thank you for any suggestions .

Answer
Hello Shirley, is the odor you are smelling propane? if so do not use it until it is checked by some one familiar with this type of unit.
I fit is not a propane smell then it might be some thing in the exhaust/chimney/vent? has that been checked.
if this is a non vented unit then some thing in the system if causing this odor and the same person that will check for the propane smell will be able to check this.
