Chimney & Fireplaces/Chimney for Shop Stove

Question

Workshop Full Front
I was give a nice wood burning stove for an A-Frame workshop with a ribbed steel roof - unfinished inside.  What is the easiest way to add a chimney?  The stove now has enough black pipe to reach the ceiling - 8" diameter.  Because of the pitch (13/12) and the ribs in the roofing, no one seems to be able to quote me prices on flashing, etc. for the chimney.  I'd like to install it as close to the roof cap as possible so that the flashing can slide under the roof cap.  If you agree, will that be enough to keep it from leaking or do I have to have some kind of rubber flashing?  (one picture attached)

Answer
Hello Jan, you can use black pipe to the roof, then it has to be Stainless All Fuel double wall through the roof and up as per your local building codes. have you thought about going out a back wall and up the back side of the building? no flashing required but would have to be in Stainless Steel all fuel pipe, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
