Question
I would like to convert my LR wood burning fireplace to both a dual sided and gas fireplace
without spending a fortune--any suggestions for someone capable of doing so in central Texas near Austin?
Size of current rock fireplace is about 2 x 4
Thanks
Tina

Answer
Hello Tina, you would need to check you local building department, you might need an engineer, then a great mason and builder, then some one to run the gas line and logs. Big bucks I think and then it is rare they work right (the flue was sized for one side and now you have doubled it and it might not be able to handle it.
you might do better with installing a direct vent gas stove (requires no chimney just an out side wall to pipe through) check with your local wood stove store.
