Question
I want to put a coal furnace in my house and use the existing chimney and I asked a few people that deliver coal and sell these furnaces  do I need to have a liner if my chimney is in good shape, these people tell I do not need a liner is this true

Answer
Hello Mark, 1st check with your local building department and the furnace manufacturer, then be sure the chimney is in good condition, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
