Chimney & Fireplaces/stove question

Question
i am a ceramic artist, i was looking to build a ceramic "skin" in sculptural form around an old wood stove. I would like to build a metal frame that surrounds the stove but does not touch it and is not attached to it. The ceramic work will have been rire at at least 1,200 celcius. Will the ceramics act as a conductor of the heat or an insulator that would prevent the heat from radiating in the home? I know this is an odd question but i am an odd guy

Answer
Hello Seth, I do not think what you want to do fire a "older wood stove" to 1200 to cure the ceramic, if you box in the stove (metal or ceramic) it will not radiate as much heat as with out.
your right oddest question yet...but hey I am an "odd guy" too
Good luck
