QuestionDear James,I have a free standing wood burning stove that is the primary heat source for my house, the house was built and ducted for central on propane. Propane has gone crazy so I don't have it anymore. The wood stove is bearly adiquate on cold days,I dont know the manufacture but the name on the stove is Heartwood,an ugly contraption at best,My question, I notice I'm loosing a lot of good heat up the flue with the damper 90% shut.I want to instahl a fan forced flue heat gatherer and duct into the existing central heat registers to keep the whole house warm instead of blowing the heat down the hall with a box fan all night! I can't find any hardware or help online can you put me wise? Oh, I'l be doing this all in the attic with fire prevention the foremost concern
AnswerHello Paul, not sure how you are going to do this and any PIping for this stove should be in double wall SS insulated pipe so the amount of heat you are hoping to recover would be very little.
If you put some thing in line then I would say DO NOT DO IT
it might be time for a bigger wood stove? Or a Wood furnace.
