Chimney & Fireplaces/Elco fireplace blower

Question
There was an Elco fireplace insert installed in our house, when we bought the house 18 years ago. At the time the house was 2 years old. That makes the fireplace about 20 years old. At the time the blower didn't work. I installed a new blower reastat which promptly blew out, making me think there was a short in the wiring. the fireplace worked without the blower so I didn't pursue the issue any further. Now 18 years later, we are going to reside the chimney so it may be an opportune time to fix the problem.
My Questions:
- I've been on line but have not found a website for Elco Fireplaces. Are they still in business? Does anyone handle parts for Elco fireplaces?
- Any ideas on where to get diagrams/drawings/manuals?
- Any suggestions on how to proceed?
C.

Answer
Hello C. I am sorry I think they are out of business, maybe try a net search for "Insert fan" or "insert blowers" and a 20 year old unit it might be time to upgrade to a more efficient one, check your local wood stover store (for the fan also) they can help
