Chimney & Fireplaces/wood furnace add on to oil flu question

Question
I am adding a new wood furnace onto my oil furnace.( hot water radiation) the wood furnace has a new steel chimney. The oil furnace has to be moved next to the wood furnace.I have a coventional black flu from the wood furnace to the new steel chimney. Can I vent my oil furnace into that same black flu before it enters the steel chimney or do I have to have a separate entrance to the steel chimney for the oil furnace? If I leave the oil furnace where it is the water line will have to run a distance to from the wood furnace to the oil furnace , that is reason for relocating it.

Answer
Hello Brian, not sure how you want to set this up so let me start with the wood furnace has install instruction (they must be followed) also check with your local building department for how they want this installed, and you can not mix the 2 in any pipe or chimney (cannot mix solid and liquid fuels)
So each will have to have it's own smoke pipe and chimney.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
