Question
My fireplace chase cover is rusting.  Assuming it can still be repaired (ie the metal is still solid), what is the best way to repair it?  What type of heat/flame proof materials do i need?

Thanks!

Answer
Hello Drew, why repair it, get your measurements and have it recover in Stainless Steel, just go right over it.
there are companies you can find on the net (Olympia Chimney) that will custom make you one that you should be able to remove the cap and slid it on (silicone it down) and put the cap back, done, or you could have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
