Question
I have a 0 clearance fireplace, house was built in 1980. on the tag in the fireplace it says dura vent d-9108 model w-42 I want to have an insert installed but this brand does not show on the list that the insert can be installed in. And is it necessary to reline the intire pipe like some installers claim at a price higher than the cost of the stove.

Answer
Hello George, if it is  not listed for an insert then you can not install on in that unit, that unit was tested and if you install an insert in will run Much hotter than originally designed and installing an insert may cause a fire and your home owners insurance may not cover you if you have a fire.
sorry I know you wanted to here some thing different
