Chimney & Fireplaces/propane to wood

Question
Hi Mr Ball,

We bought our first house last year and it has a Vt castings propane heater. The previous owner used to heat with wood, but switched to propane about ten years ago. We would like to switch back to a wood stove and will probably buy used. Who would we hire to disconnect the propane stove and hook up the wood stove? And would changes have been made to our chimney and flue to accommodate propane that will now need to be reversed? Thanks for your time,
Jessica

Answer
Hello Jessica and congratulations on the new home, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help with removal and then checking the chimney for future use.
Hope this helps
James
