Chimney & Fireplaces/Temco Back Refractory Replacement

Question
Mr. Ball:

I have searched for a replacement part for my Temco fireplace for several months now and cannot find the part.
The fireplace was installed in December 1987 when our home was built.
The installation manual states "Temco, The Energy Conserver Fireplace/Model #TFB36-4S."
The TFB36-4S is a sticker that was placed over TFB39-1.  On the reverse side of the manual it states replacement parts for model TFB39-1.  The back refractory replacement piece is listed as 2D65987. Can you please tell me where I can find the replacement part for this 1987 fireplace. The style is the basic white brick style.
I thank you for any assistance you can give me on this matter.

Patty

Answer
Hello Patty, I believe Tempco is out of business, they do make generic replacement panels, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
