Question
Can I use a non-vented set of fireplace logs in an old Martin Industries residential prefab model SA 42 fireplace?

Martin Industries has been out of business for a few years, therefore couldn't get help there...so The Experts.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello Cecil, I would not use any logs that are not for that type of gas fire or that fireplace, if you replaced the gas logs with new gas logs (vented) you should be alright but I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
