Question
Fireplace
Fireplace
This is a wood burning fireplace. I have been using it regularly and today when cleaning out the ashes noticed  deterioration forming in the bottom and whatever this is made of not real brick a small piece  broke off and you can see small metal wire. Can I place something over this or is it safe to keep using?

Answer
Hello JC, they might make replacement panels, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
