Chimney & Fireplaces/Chimney Cap Recommendation

Hello James,

I have a stone chimney and I want a stone cap. Is blue stone or slate better and please tell me why? The more details, the better as I am trying to pick between the two.

Hello Steve, I would check with a local mason, for what is best in your area (FL) as I  am in CT, one may do better in the sun than the other but I would think either would be fine.
You could have a local Certified Chimney Sweep, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
