Chimney & Fireplaces/Direct Vent Logs

We recently purchased a home that has a direct vent fireplace.  The prior owner removed the decorative gas logs leaving the unit to which they were attached.
We would like to put decorative logs back into the fireplace.  Does a direct vent fireplace take vented or ventless logs?

Great question. A direct vent gas appliance has a specific log set and engineered placement. What you must do first is determine the manufacture of the direct vent appliance and contact a distributor of that line. They can help you find the specific listed logs for your unit. I would recommend contacting a qualified inspector to look at your appliance, determine these these issue for you and move forward with a plan that will allow you and you family to feel comfortable using this appliance.
