Question
My brick layer is asking for how a cross section thru a chimney with a single flue should look like? He did not have this done in last years and needs some help. Can you please provide as some guideness?
Respectfully,

Answer
Hello Nick, there is national code (NFPS 211 and IRC) and some towns vary from town to town so I would start with your local building department they might require some thing more (earth quake support in CA ...etc) they will be happy to give you what you need and you should be pulling a permit for it also.
hope this helped
James
