Question
I do not know the module # of our Stylecrest Vexar Fireplace but would like to install an electric insert.  Is this a good idea?  The Vexar is installed in our double wide mobile home.

Thanks,

Bill

Answer
Bill,
The factory built fireplace system in your mobile is both UL listed and HUDD approved. Both certifications do not allow for any modification of the system or installations not addresed in the fireplace installation manual. Installation of the electric insert will likely result in no adverse effects but the only way it complys  with your local local building code requirements would be to pull a permit and have it approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). I hope this helps and happy New Year to you and your family.
