Question
I live in Petawawa, Ontario and it's damned cold this time of year. Anyhow, I have an Osburn LA 30 gas fireplace. It's freestanding and has a B-vent.

When I turn the unit on, it runs for anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Then it clicks and turns off, including the pilot light. I have checked the chimney, the wiring and replaced the thermopile on the advice of the manufacturer.

Do you have any idea as to what the problem may be?

You could have any number of problems, from a loss of gas pressure, a blockage in the valve, valve malfunction, etc... I recommend contracting with a WETT certified technician, experienced in gas appliance service to look at you unit in the field with all of the needed diagnostic tools and tell you exactly what's going on. Gas appliances are not something homeowners should tinker with themselves. Good luck and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
