Question
hello,

I am going to install a chimney on the outside of my garage for a wood stove.  My question is should the base be a poured concrete pad or brick?  If poured how thick?  Also the stove has 8" round exhaust is a 13" square flue big enough?  Thank you in advance.

Hi Fred,

I would pour it out of concrete.

You'll have to check with your local building codes to see how thick it will need to be and how deep you'll have to dig to meet local frost requirements.

The 13" flue tile will be large encough for an 8" round exhaust.
