Question
I recently had a house built and new to using a fireplace. I have a prefab wood burning fireplace with a gas starter.  I read articles on the web regarding maximizing heat throughout the house and safety. Just wanted some information on what I can do to bring more heat in. I read that turning fans on in bathrooms is both a good and bad thing in order to circulate heat....not sure which is right. Also, does it matter if the doors are opened or closed? Makes more sense to me that they would be open for more heat. And finally, do I need to open a window everytime I have a fire? (to prevent carbon monoxide). I would appreciate some info on these topics so I can burn the right way.
