Question
Our fireplace only a few years old, It is an Automatic electric start, (no Pilot light) although we hear it clicking, trying to start it does not start. The Gas is on, Electricity works and the Gas guys have looked at it, but are not so familiar with the electric start units. Could it just be the starter?

Yes, it could be.

Gas inserts should have an annual service by a qualified technician.

I recommend you contact a local CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep or an NFI Certified Gas Burning Technician to do some on-site diagnosis of your problem.
