Question
The Back Refractory of our Temco Fireplace is cracked and has a hole.  We are in need of replacing this and don't know who to contact to get one.  Our manual gives us no phone number for Temco and I also think they are out of buisness or have been bought by someone else.  The model# is LC 36-3MB and the refractory part# is 2D70357. Can you help us?  Thanks!

Temco parts are still available in a number of locations. Contact a CSIA certified chimney sweep in your area, (www.csia.org), and insist on manufactures listed parts for your fireplace. Don't settle for after market parts as this will void your warranty from Temco and your system will then include parts not tested for safety with your fireplace. This link to Underwriter Laboratories, UL will explain the position of the listing agency in regards to an unlisted part or as they refer to it a field modification. www.ul.com/regulators/modification.cfm.
