Question
I have a Blue stone slab for our raised hearth and red candle wax dripped on it.  We tried cleaning using a hot iron and dish towel.  It worked somewhat but now there is a large dark spot in the stone from the residual wax.  Is there any solvent that will work to remove the wax spot?

Hi Mike,

Try rubbing alcohol.  If that doesn't work, try acetone.  Both are high-evaporative.

Make CERTAIN that you have a lot of ventilation and no ignition sources, (cigarettes, cigars, electrical sparks, open flames, etc...) in the area when using either one of these.

If those don't work, replace the stone.
