Question
I have a gas fireplace and the last time I used it (last winter) I couldn't get the switch to turn it off.  I had to turn it off manually.  Do I need to replace the switch?  Is it something I can do myself?
It has to switches on the wall, one turns it on and one turns on the blower.

Replacing the switch is one possibility of many. I recommend that you contract with a professional installer certified as a "Gas Fuel" specialist through "NFI" www.nficertified.org. There are many things to check on your fireplace in addition to the switch and your system is best serviced by a pro. Good luck.
