Question
I am wanting to purchase a wood insert Quadra-Fire 2700I. I have a pre-fab fireplace Heatilator E036. I want to know if I will need to add any additional flue pipe besides what is hooked up to the pre-fab fireplace?

Your Heatilator #E036, factory built fireplace is a UL listed product. Installing a wood-burning insert stove within this product is a huge field modification and not permitted under the terms of the listing. Cut and paste the following link to the UL field modification page, www.ul.com/regulators/modification.cfm, and also Heatilator's technical department and they will take the same position on this. I am personally aware of of 20 structure fires related to this type of installation and I cant emphasize enough my concerns, do not install this stove insert in your factory built fireplace.
