Chimney & Fireplaces - chimney flue covers

Expert: Bart Ogden - 8/20/2005

Question
We have some birds in the chimney and would like to install two chimney flue covers. There are 2 flues, side by side, approximately 13 X 13. Flue is 38 years old.  The commercial ones seems big and bulky.  Is there a good way to make one from hardware cloth or chicken wire, etc?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Ruth,

You should contact your local CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep for the answer to this question.  You can find one at www.csia.org.

We also have pictures of chimney caps on our website.
