Question
I am considering building a firepit in my backyard in central NC USA. I want to dig a hole about 24" deep, gravel and sand the bottom and then use split-cafe concrete as the outer wall about 48" OD with a firebrick liner and fireclay. L;astly, the floor will be irregular flagstone set in concrete.
Will the SF concrete blocks with a cap hold up to the fire temps in the pit with the firebrick liner or do I need to do something more substantial. This will be about 15 feet from the deck of the house. Thanks.
Hi Brian,
This shouuld work fine as long as you don't try to signal overhead satellites with an enormous fire. Just keep the fire basically in the middle and use common sense when burning.
