Question
I am in the market for a high efficiency wood burning fireplace for new construction.  I have looked at various manufacturers inclucing Quadra-Fire, Napolean, Fireplace Extrordinair, and Bistrad.  Any recommendations?  Any other brands you think I should research?  Any suggestions on how to choose a particular manufacturer?

Most of the high effeciency fireplaces have similar BTU output, emmisions, technology.  I'm stumped at trying to decide which is best.

Hi Bill,

We have sold all of those brands in the past.  Currently we sell the BIS and Napoleon brands and feel they heat the most effectively.

I don't feel the FPX fireplace is nearly as effective when it is installed with pulling outside air in, then heating it up for distribution throughout the living areas.

My overall choice is the BIS Tradition for heating capacity.  It's our biggest seller.
