Hi Randy,

I was impressed with your answers and Tom Pierces to other questioners and decided to ask you and he this question.

Is it physically possible for a man to break a sound chimney system that is constructed of reinforced masonry (approximately 5 feet above the roof and a bit wider than typical)?

Either way, do you know where I can obtain proof?

John,

Interesting question, I will assume your enquiring about about a service provider working on the chimney or in the vicinity? If damage was done intentionally, than the answer could be yes, individually, the components of the chimney system are fragile. Not knowing the extent of your definition of "break" its hard to say. Ladders against a chimney, standing atop the chimney, jumping from the chimney could all lead to potential damage. I hope this helps. Good luck.
