Question
We have and old house with one open fire on the ground floor. We always burn wood and will do for many years to come as we also have several acres of neglected woodland with the house. The fireplace vents very efficiently via a flue which is swept regularly. We wish to place a wood burning stove in the adjacent room and would like to know if we can vent this through the same flue. In the past it is clear that an oil burning boiler in this adjacent room, which is no longer in place, was vented through into the same flue as there is a hole, at present blocked, through which we could pass a metal flue pipe from a wood stove.
If we can do this it would be very simple to set up.

You can NOT share flues with woodburning appliances. Each appliance MUST have its own flue.
