Question
hi

i will be spending 2 nights in Shanghai as part of a tour in Asia. However i am
completely clueless as to which area i should be staying in. I am a solo
traveler, young dude, and would like to be staying in an area that is a close
walk to everything... not sure about pudong?? or should it be next to the
bund? Budget is not a constraint, finding the right location and right service
matters the most to me as this will probably be the last time i'll go. many
thanks!

Answer
I would not recommend Pudong as that is more for business.  The Bund would be the place to be around.  It is full of bars, clubs, restaurants and there is also a lot of shopping in that area as well.  You can get hotels of all different prices in that area.  If you have access to a credit card I suggest looking at www.elong.net  I have found some great discounts on there.  They only charge your credit card if you don't show up at the hotel.  Once you are at the hotel you can pay in cash or anyway you like.

I hope this helps,
